Job Title: Digital Marketing Specialist
Job Type: Part-time (3-5 hours per week)
Experience Level: Entry-level
Reports To: Development Director
Compensation: $16-18/hr DOE
About the National Outdoor Learning Alliance: At NOLA, our mission is to increase the prevalence of outdoor learning opportunities for youth around the country. We do this by providing on-demand training, program development resources, and ongoing support to those working to start, strengthen, or sustain high-quality outdoor learning experiences for youth in their community.
About the Role: The Digital Marketing Specialist will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies to enhance our visibility and engagement within the community. This role focuses on creating compelling content, managing social media platforms, and promoting our programs to increase awareness and support for our mission. The Marketing Specialist works closely with the Development team to find more opportunities for the organization’s growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy to promote the organization’s initiatives and programs.
Create, curate, and manage engaging content for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) to grow our online presence
Design marketing materials, including flyers, newsletters, and brochures, to support outreach efforts
Occasionally be onsite to capture moments of students and staff engaging with nature-based activities, outdoor lessons, and team-building exercises.
Monitor and analyze social media metrics and website traffic to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and strategies
Collaborate with staff to gather stories, testimonials, and updates that highlight our work and impact
Write engaging captions, create hashtags, and maintain a consistent brand voice.
Edit photos and videos to ensure the best visual storytelling and branding.
Monitor and track social media performance using analytics tools, providing regular updates on growth and engagement.
Occasionally assist in planning and promoting events, including fundraising initiatives and community engagement activities.
Qualifications:
A strong passion for nature, outdoor education, and creative storytelling.
Proficient in using social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.) for content creation and community engagement.
Experience in taking high-quality photos and videos with a smartphone or device (must have access to a phone/device capable of producing high-quality media).
Basic knowledge of photo and video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or mobile apps like InShot, Lightroom). Squarespace experience is a plus.
Strong written communication skills with an ability to craft engaging captions and posts.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Attention to detail, creativity, and a positive attitude.
Requirements:
Access to reliable transportation (you will need to commute onsite occasionally to get content).
Must have a smartphone or camera-equipped device that can take quality photos and videos for content creation
