FAQ

  • Forest Schools (sometimes referred to as outdoor or nature schools) are all-weather outdoor education programs that are alternatives to the traditional school system. This method of education focuses on encouraging children to develop their skills, interests, and understanding of the world around them through practical, hands-on experiences. Children have the freedom to explore their environment and learn at their own pace, guided by qualified teachers trained in this method of early childhood education.

  • Our programs are balanced with child-led learning and EverWild’s own place-based curriculum. We believe experiential education through the lens of nature is the ultimate mechanism for learning. Half of each class is dedicated to play and exploration, while the latter half utilizes our own curriculum that focuses on science, math, local history, literacy, and the arts. The academic rigor of our programs are structured to be developmentally appropriate for each age group. Our teaching philosophy blends those of Reggio-Emilia, Montessori, Janet Lansbury, and traditional environmental education.
