Embracing Risky Play: Building Resilient, Creative Kids
In a world that often prioritizes safety and caution, it might sound counterintuitive to encourage risky play for children. However, embracing controlled risks in children's playtime can be incredibly beneficial for their holistic development. So, what is risky play, and how does it benefit children?
Unleashing Your Child's Inner Creative Genius
At EverWild, we have the privilege of witnessing this phenomenon every day, and it's backed by some fascinating research. In 1992, NASA sought a method to accurately assess the creative potential of its rocket scientists and engineers. To achieve this, they enlisted the expertise of Dr. George Land and Dr. Beth Jarman, who were tasked with creating a test specifically crafted to identify individuals' aptitude for divergent thinking and creativity. In that remarkable study, an astonishing 98% of the 4-5-year-olds they tested were classified as bona fide creative geniuses.
