Empowering STEM Education in Idaho

We are thrilled to announce that the National Outdoor Learning Alliance, EverWild Forest School’s umbrella organization, has been selected as a recipient of the INL STEM Equity Grant from Battelle Energy Alliance (BEA) and Idaho National Laboratory’s (INL) K-12 Education Programs. This grant, totaling $1,000.00, will support the funding of an outdoor afterschool program with EverWild Forest School, tailored for low-income students.

The significance of this grant extends beyond mere financial support; it represents a commitment to advancing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education and fostering inclusivity within the field. By providing resources for an outdoor afterschool program, this grant will not only enhance educational opportunities but also cultivate a passion for STEM among students who may otherwise have limited access to such experiences.

At INL’s K-12 Education Programs, their mission is clear: to inspire Idaho’s future STEM workforce, impact students, teachers, and families by integrating best practices in STEM education, and empower employees to become STEM mentors. We firmly believe that by nurturing STEM interest and proficiency at a young age, we can drive innovation and prepare students for the diverse career opportunities that await them.

EverWild Forest School programs, run by the National Outdoor Learning Alliance, exemplify our commitment to leveraging resources and fostering collaborations to expand STEM opportunities for all. Together, we aim to enrich the Idaho STEM landscape and equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary for success in STEM-related fields.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Battelle Energy Alliance (BEA) and Idaho National Laboratory’s (INL) K-12 Education Programs for their dedication to promoting STEM education and creating pathways for underserved students to explore their potential. This grant represents not only a financial investment but also a vote of confidence in the impactful work being done by the National Outdoor Learning Alliance and EverWild Forest School.
