News from the Wild: Earth Systems, Parent Tip, and Events

Hello, Families! We trust that you had a fantastic Fall Break and were able to take some time to appreciate all the wonderful things in your lives. Here at EverWild, we cannot express enough how grateful we are for each and every one of you.

This week at EverWild, we have some exciting topics lined up for our learning adventure! Get ready for your kids to jump into the truly remarkable topic of Earth systems, including the Biosphere, Hydrosphere, Atmosphere, and Geosphere. We'll also be exploring the wonders of temperature, how we measure it, and even discovering the intriguing concept of circadian rhythms. It's going to be a week filled with exploration and discovery as we take a big-picture view of our incredible planet, while also appreciating the seasonal and daily rhythms that surround us.

Parent Tip of the Week

Here come the December Holidays, creeping up on us very quickly! While this is a magical time of year in so many ways, it can also feel stressful, demanding, and exhausting. When we feel like we're being pulled in so many directions and have so many things on our schedule, it's natural to lose our cool a few times. When we lose our cool, our kids tend to follow suit. If a situation arises where you are short, rude, or dismissive of your kids, if you take out a bit of your emotions on them... just apologize to them. Seriously, do it! Kids are forgiving, and receiving an apology from their parents shows them that we are all human beings who make mistakes, and it's okay to not be perfect. An apology teaches our kids the importance of taking responsibility for our actions, and it provides them with a model of how it's done. It also shows our children respect, and when they feel that from their parents, it builds trust and strengthens the relationship. A bit of connection and an apology are truly gifts that you can give your kids!

Looking for more forest school adventures?

Is your child yearning for more time outdoors? Give them more opportunities to immerse themselves in nature by enrolling them in a second class. This will not only expand their days at forest school but also provide them with a 4 or 5-day schedule, just like many of our students.
