News from the Wild: Winter events, book fair, and more

Greetings, Families! We hope you're enjoying the festive spirit of December! Our Fall Curriculum has come to a close, and we're excited to head into our Winter Curriculum. This season, we'll start off by exploring how animals adapt and survive during the winter. From hibernation and migration to the fascinating behaviors of winter birds, we'll be covering it all. And to bring in some holiday cheer, we'll also be looking at how reindeer change during this time of year. The animal kingdom never ceases to amaze us, and we can't wait to share these incredible animal adaptations with your children!

Parent Tip of the Week

We all know that December and the holiday season can get pretty hectic pretty fast. Your calendar and your children's calendar may be filled with more and more activities. It's so easy to feel like you're missing out on all the amazing and enchanting events happening all around town. We recommend choosing a few events that truly mean something to you and your family, the ones that will make you all feel fulfilled and capture the magic of the season. Apart from that, let your kids experience boredom. Resist the temptation to constantly wow them with new and exciting experiences throughout the month. Good old-fashioned boredom combined with meaningful connections (like cozy evenings by the fire, reading together, and sipping hot chocolate) and the select few events you choose will be more than enough for them to feel how special this time is. It will also prevent them from feeling overwhelmed and overstimulated. Remember, less is truly more! :)
