News from the Wild: Streams & Rivers, tips, and more!

Hello EverWild Families!

This week at EverWild, students are learning all about Earth's water systems. Through hands-on activities, they are gaining a deeper understanding of the intricate balance and interconnectedness of Earth's water cycle. They're learning about the various forms of water - from rivers and lakes to oceans and glaciers - and exploring how water shapes our planet's landscapes and ecosystems. Students are also investigating the importance of water conservation and the ways in which human activities can impact water quality and availability. By connecting with nature, students are not only expanding their scientific knowledge but also developing a sense of stewardship for our planet's precious water resources. Overall, it's a week filled with discovery, exploration, and appreciation for the vital role that water plays in sustaining life on Earth.

Parent Tip of the Week

As a parent, it's important to lead by example and prioritize your own outdoor time. When children witness their parents actively engaging in outdoor activities, they become inspired to follow suit.

To encourage your child's enthusiasm for the outdoors, plan family outings that revolve around nature. Consider embarking on hikes, where you can explore the wonders of the wild together. Alternatively, you could organize camping trips, allowing your family to immerse themselves in the beauty of the great outdoors. Whether it's setting up a tent, building a campfire, or stargazing under the open sky, these experiences will undoubtedly create a sense of wonder and adventure for your child.

However, it's not always necessary to undertake grand adventures to connect with nature. Sometimes, just a simple day spent relaxing in nature can be just as rejuvenating. Find a peaceful spot, perhaps a local park, where you can unwind and reconnect with your family.

By prioritizing your own outdoor time, you are not only nurturing your child's love for the outdoors but also fostering a stronger bond as a family.
