Tots and Trees Teacher (Fall Session)

Job Description:
EverWild Forest School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Tots and Trees Teacher to join our team, starting September 13th. This part-time position plays a vital role in our Tots and Trees program, which aims to introduce young children to the beauty and wonder of the natural world with their caregivers. Our program is designed to help toddlers develop fine and gross motor skills, foster curiosity, and understand cause-and-effect relationships through hands-on experiences with natural materials and stimuli.
Fall session has the option for 9 or 10 weeks, depending on the teacher’s desired schedule. Tots teacher has the option to teach other classes, pick up sub shifts, and continue on into future sessions.
Key Responsibilities:
Class Facilitation: Lead our Tots and Trees program off the Eagle Greenbelt, which takes place every Friday from 10:00 - 11:15 a.m. Guide parents/caregivers and their children in exploring the natural world, while promoting sensory exploration and skill development.
Parent/Caregiver Engagement: Foster a supportive and collaborative environment that encourages bonding and shared learning experiences.
Nature Connection: Facilitate connections between toddlers and nature through age-appropriate activities and challenges. Promote an understanding of the natural environment and its importance in early childhood development.
Educational Expertise: Apply your knowledge of the developmental needs of school-age children to create engaging and age-appropriate activities that promote growth and learning.
Qualifications:
1+ years of previous experience in Early Childhood Education or a related field of work.
Enthusiasm for working with young children and a passion for introducing them to the natural world.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with parents, caregivers, and children.
CPR and First Aid Certification (must be obtained before employment begins).
Equipment Requirements:
A cell phone to make occasional calls to EverWild staff and enrolled families; and with ability to download our parent-communication app and be used during class time
Access to a laptop/computer with internet for occasional job-related use including possible virtual meetings
An active email address to receive internal communications
Reliable transportation to get to your assigned class location in Eagle, Garden City, and/or Boise on-time and in all types of weather

Additional Requirements:
Be prepared and able to withstand cold and hot temperatures, and rainy weather conditions while managing students and engaging with them positively for an extended amount of time (e.g., temperatures down to 15°F, temperatures up to 99°F).
