Summer Camp Educator
We are searching for an enthusiastic and nurturing part-time Summer Camp Educator to join our team at EverWild Forest School. Our goal is to provide families in Boise, Eagle, and Nampa, Idaho with a nature-based education. Our programs are held 100% outside in all-weather on public land with city permits, and we do not have a traditional school facility.
EverWild Forest School’s mission is to create safe and accessible outdoor education programs that connect children to themselves, their communities, and the natural world through free play, place-based curriculum, and nature immersion.
About the Position:
The Summer Camp Educator position begins June 2026 and ends August 2026. Summer Camp Educators are responsible for fostering a cohesive teaching team with their partner Camp Educator, assisting with nature-based activities, and helping manage the day-to-day operational activities. This position is responsible for the safety, enjoyment, and education of summer camp attendees between the ages of 4 and 12 years. Summer Camp Educators must maintain appropriate, positive, caring behavior when interacting with children, parents/caregivers, and staff. They also must assist with daily tasks (assisting with clothing changes, activity. assistance, toileting, picking up area, etc.), and assist in all transitions of the daily rhythm.
This is a seasonal position. The Summer Camp Educator has the option to work up to 11 weeks from the beginning of June through August 2026.
A love of children and an understanding of their developmental needs is crucial to the success of our Summer Camp Educators, as is skilled communication. More than a summer job, it’s an opportunity to grow and tend to a nature-connected community.
Compensation: Compensation will be competitive and based on experience.
Qualifications and Duties:

Passion for the school's pedagogy and philosophy, which encourages child-led play and exploration while also prioritizing warmth and connection
Ensure a healthy outdoor classroom environment – including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children as well conduct daily risk/hazard assessments of the outdoor spaces.
Ability to walk and work outside in all-weather, embracing nature-based learning
Ability to travel weekly or bi-weekly to the school’s supply trailer to get learning materials and safety supplies.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
Has previous experience in Early Childhood Education or related field of work (summer camp experience is a plus!)
Must obtain CPR and First Aid Certification before the start of employment
Knowledge of developmental needs of school-age children

Physical Requirements:
Be prepared and able to withstand hot temperatures up to 99°F and rainy weather conditions while managing students and engaging with them positively for over 5 hours a day
